Our Journey
Coast & Hinterland Care grew out of the shared personal experience of a local Sunshine Coast family in caring for ailing parents and friends. Our collective exposure to and experience with the aged care sector through this journey inspired us to identify opportunities for improvement in how services could be provided to enable better outcomes for the elderly and their families.
We subsequently developed a business which focusses on actively engaging with and prioritising the needs of each client and their family, with empathy and professional care. Collectively, we have established a family based and outcome focused quality service which promotes and enables independent living for all our customers within the aged care sector.
What sets us apart
As a family business collective, we have the passion, experience and business acumen to create a high quality, participant focused business. As detailed above, our initial drive emerged from caring for our elderly parents and the realisations that presented in how this process was managed. We identified similar needs for our parents’ ageing friends, often donating our time to help organise and coordinate their own aged care packages. Coast & Hinterland Care is a recently established business providing an alternative option to people seeking aged care services throughout the Sunshine Coast. Given our size, we can establish and maintain close personal attention to your evolving needs, offer competitive pricing and deliver professional services and support which we would provide as if to our own family. Our staff will all be experienced in the services provided and will afford the utmost compassion and responsiveness to your changing needs as they emerge.
Director and Care Partner
As a Director and Care Partner, Melody oversees the planning and implementation of all the companies nursing and personal care support services. She is an enrolled nurse with a wealth of knowledge and experience in nursing and personal care. Her kind and compassionate nature has enabled her to thrive in the field of aged care for 13 years. Her expertise includes but is not limited to:
health assessments,
diabetic reviews,
patient care assessments and care plans,
wound care including assessment and dressing management,
medication administration, general medication rounds and S8 (controlled drug) medicines, and
effectively communicating and building rapport with patients and colleagues through verbal and written communication.
As Financial Controller, Michelle oversees the governance and compliance responsibilities of the business including budgeting, payroll and periodic reporting. She will support client engagement and oversee all aspects of company administration. Michelle is a qualified accountant, former registered tax agent and general business advisory professional. She has over 25 years’ experience demonstrating strong financial management, business administration and commercial acumen essential for effective business management.
Provides strategic advice and guidance with governance and compliance requirements for the company. He performs the roles of Human Resources Manager and Quality and Compliance Officer. He is strategic advisor to the Directors via the Executive Leadership Team in all business management functions. He has over 35 years’ experience in public and private sector executive leadership experience in emergency management, regulation, quality management, operational management and human resource management.
As a Director, Tim jointly leads the company operations and specifically, coordinates general maintenance and repair services for the business. He is a licensed building designer and qualified carpenter who has significant experience in accessible bathroom design and construction, landscaping and maintenance.
As a Director, Phil jointly leads the company operations and have specific oversight of initial engagement processes with new participants. This includes facilitating needs assessments and coordinating subsequent service scheduling and provision (in conjunction with the Care Partner). He has an extensive operational management background developed in sales, logistics, and business management for over 25 years.
